The Fable of Fragmentation draws its conceptual foundation from the graphic relationship between water and datum. Here, the datum represents the landmass, while the interaction with water becomes a metaphor for gradual fragmentation and transformation. The design interprets this phenomenon spatially, translating abstract graphic patterns into a living landscape. Through this process, the ground is imagined as a surface being subtly fractured, generating dynamic forms and experiential pockets. These fragments evolve into an intuitive garden where movement, pause, and interaction become integral to the spatial narrative. The landscape thus becomes both visual and experiential—an environment where the idea of fragmentation creates rhythm, identity, and a distinctive character within the residential setting.

As the layout unfolds, the design begins with an expanding circular form that transforms into a sunken amphitheatre, accessed through a grand entrance from the ground level and framed by a cascading waterfall backdrop. Moving further into the site, the fragmented lines begin to emerge, forming irregular green and grey pockets across the landscape. These pockets accommodate varied functions including a celebration lawn, play areas, activity spaces, and shaded seating zones, all arranged in a balanced yet organic composition. At the centre of the landscape, a distinctive extruded element emerges in the form of an observation deck designed like a bird’s nest. Elevated above the ground, it allows users to experience the landscape from a higher vantage point, offering panoramic views and serving as a tranquil gathering spot where one can enjoy the surrounding environment and evening breeze.
