concept
At Grand Mercure, the landscape begins with a deep respect for the sloping Goan terrain, allowing the site to dictate the experience. Through careful contour integration, every level shift becomes an opportunity rather than an obstacle. The design is conceived as a resort landscape where movement unfolds as a curated journey. A defined processional path structures this journey, transforming circulation into ceremony. Each transition from arrival court to shaded promenade becomes an experiential arrival. The landscape operates as a sequence of layered transitional spaces, immersive and gradual. Here, topography, climate, and hospitality converge into one cohesive sensory narrative.
design
An expansive experiential walkway guides circulation through stone paving and intuitive material shifts. Wayfinding is embedded within the flooring itself, subtly directing guests without signage. Clear functional zoning organizes the site into destination-driven experiences anchored by a vibrant recreational core. The poolside landscape, with its stepped water edges, becomes the visual and social centerpiece.
The large event lawn provides a flexible gathering ground for celebrations and community moments. Age-responsive play areas and shaded seating pockets foster inclusive social interaction. Together, each space reinforces the essence of a hospitality landscape where movement, leisure, and memory seamlessly intertwine.
