The harmony of connecting the solid and void is what drives the landscape of Dev Aalay. It acts a thread of movement as the pathways encloses the hardscape and softscape, passing through the clubhouse crowned with branched columns on the ground floor and louvered facade on the first floor, sneaking in the colors of shrubs laid right out of this structure.
Whereas, on the opposite side of this shrub grid is an equally vibrant play area, in shade and in light with extension of levelled seating which stretches to merge with the metal staircase, overtaken by creepers crawling up, giving it a vertical green dimension. The same paradigm can be seen in the feature wall right in front of the entrance gate, as the planting palette is integrated along with the metal frames. In addition to this, the pathway leading towards lawn is instated with arches immersed in greens too.
The radiation of form can be realized in the flooring of circulation too, as the grass crete extends out to connect with encircling bands and grooves in road, topped with modular movable planters, making the solidity more porous to the dynamics of landscape.
This curvature of grass crete is reflected in the lawn along with carved water feature and water wall attached to the club house. The atmosphere generated can be registered into one’s conscious from different seating spaces, be it play area, lawn, amongst shrubs, or an extended lliptical reading space right outside of the library. From every pocket the whole landscape gives out a different vision to be experienced.
